West Adams Residence
West Adams Residence
Originally built in the 1930s, this modest-sized property is in the Jefferson Park Neighborhood of the Historic West Adams community. Completely renovated and updated to reflect its owner’s modern aesthetic, exterior improvements include custom wood windows and doors, stucco, roofing, wood fencing, Ipe wood decks, and landscaping. The layout of the home was modified by opening the kitchen and dining room areas and improving the bathroom layout.
Original details, such as fluted door trims and stepped ceilings, were preserved and enhanced throughout the home. In the bathroom, existing arches at the shower inspired the profile for a new flat-arched ceiling. Custom millwork was installed throughout, including a seating banquette in the dining area plus vanity cabinets and shelving in the bathroom.
To ensure the home would last for another hundred years, all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems were fully upgraded. New finishes include solid oak wood flooring, stone countertops, roman clay wall finishes, and tile.
